The music duo Dijk en Waardse Anna and Irma will give open-air concerts on 18 and 19 June from 2.30 pm in Ruïnekerk in Oude Niedorp. Wine tasting

Do you want ‘wine’? Go to a wine tasting! Experience different taste experiences of wine at Langedijker winery de Koen on 18 and 19 June from 1pm to 5pm. At the entrance you are welcomed with a glass of Langedijker Bubbles or West Frisian Pearl. Then you walk through the vineyard with the first stop of the grape variety Souvigner Gris, where you taste Langedijker Pracht. Two more grape and wine varieties follow to taste in the vineyard in full bloom. There is a shop in the vineyard. When you buy a few bottles, you get the entrance fee of € 7.50 back.

Beer festival, beer walk

For the beer lover: North Holland Beer Festival is on 17 and 18 June in HAL 25 Alkmaar. (Local) brewers tap and tell you all about beer. Price (with starter pack) € 22.50 at the door. Last Alkjes072

The last weekend of Alkjes072 has arrived. Over the past few weekends, the pop-up festival has settled in various places in Alkmaar. On June 17, 18 and 19, musicians will perform at Stadsstrand de Kade, the closing festival venue. Light blue Lawrence, Sterre Weldring, BeinG and His Merry Prankster start on Friday. On Saturday, hip-hoppers and word artists will take the stage: Shamby & Amaru (CTD Movement), Steve Dee & KingLeeYung and Sherr. On Sunday, Erik Ankoné (see photo) takes the audience into his bluesy repertoire, after which Colorful Minds and 3PointLanding play. The presentation is in the hands of Nina Bakker. Art comes from Mira Bleeker and Anderson Farah. Other editions were previously held in Utrecht and Leiden, among others.

Tvaltai and Slavuj

The Georgian singing group Tvaltai and the polyphonic Balkan choir Slavuj led by Alkmaar conductor Ivo Boswijk (photo) will perform in the Mennonite church Alkmaar on 17 June at 20.15. Many Georgian folk songs are mountain songs. Slavuj sings Ukrainian folk songs. Songs where there is extra attention especially in wartime. Admission € 15 / € 10 (children under 12 & CJP). Children in concert

A children’s choir of 450 children from Castricum will sing countless pop songs with the band Shane Entertainment and singer Patricia van Haastrecht (The Voice 2019), conducted by Rolien Eikelenboom. There’s dancing from Club Mariz. The presentation is in the hands of Nienke van den Berg. The net proceeds from Kids in Concert go to the Dutch Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (NCFS), which stands up for children with cystic fibrosis.

Big bands in concert

Two big bands will perform on Father’s Day on 19 June at 2.30 pm in Kulturcenter Vredeburg Limmen. Swingmasters and The Think BIG band (photo) will perform at a Father’s Day concert with a repertoire of swing, rock, soul and funk. The Swingmasters (from 1980) is conducted by André Elders. The 20-man ‘The Think BIG band’ from Castricum plays under the direction of ‘musical millipede’ René Breetveld. Price: 7.50 euros.

New: Engen

Between the green, on the outskirts of Alkmaar behind Boekelermeer and on the farm BijHuub, is the site of a new electronic music festival on June 18: De Weide. From kl. 12 to 23.30 you will discover (inter) national artists, DJs and live acts on three different stages. De Weide focuses on ‘experienced festival goers who seek quality in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere’. Artists include Eva van Manen, Marcel Vogel, Dwaalgast with Shari Klein and Awanto3. Art Expo Village Church

Photography, ceramics, drawings and comics can be found in Grootschermers Dorpskerk. Here, photographer, painter and author Dirk Oegema, ceramicist Joke Noordstrand and (cartoon) artist Tineke Troost exhibit. Until June 26 every Saturday. and things. seen from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The works are for sale, part of the profits will be used for the maintenance of the church. Musical: August Rush

Musical association Hanswijckers from Egmond plays ‘August Rush’ in the theater De Beun Heiloo on 17 June (20.00) and 18 June (15. and 20.00). Hanswijckers is a ‘breeding ground for talent’, where Jim Bakkum and others from the musical and theater world once played. Sound technician Jan van Dijk won this year’s Musical Award for best sound design. The current protagonist Femke Koot played last year in the national musical ‘Sound of Music’.
