Rotterdam has 20 festivals in June and you don’t want to miss these 8

In June 2022, Rotterdam can be more fun than ever! It’s not just Rotterdam Architecture Month (hello iconic pink and orange roof project!); the city is bustling with dozens of parties, festivals and events. We highlight eight. Please note: some events are now (almost) sold out.

Yardbird Festival | June 11

On June 11, Yardbird will take over the Keile District with three different stages, a vintage market and much more. During the Yardbird Festival, different cultures meet ‘in an atmosphere built on eclectic sounds’. Expect the best hip hop, R&B, future beats, groovy disco and house and hot Afro sounds.

Boothstock Festival & Kidsstock | 11 and 12 June

Do you like a bit of variety on a festival day? At Boothstock Festivals you dance to hip-hop in addition to house and techno. Both international stars and Rotterdam heroes are on stage here. There is a special program for children on Sunday 12 June: Kidsstock.

Hidden Gardens | 11 and 12 June

Discover the city’s many green paradises under Hidden Gardens. Dozens of garden owners – from Vreewijk to Prinsenland and from Delfshaven to Kralingen – open their hidden country property to the public for one weekend. During these days you enjoy unexpected green spots and get all sorts of ideas for your own garden.

Rotterdam Pride 2022 x Pink Saturday | 17 to 26 June

Pink Saturday is the oldest Gay Pride from the Netherlands and travels to a different city every year. This year, Rotterdam Pride is the proud host of this event, on Saturday 18 June. We celebrate this with a free festival at Coolsingel, with a broad program that connects the LGBTQIA+ community from Rotterdam and the whole of the Netherlands. The program contains a pride marchlive acts like Duncan Laurence and S10 and DJ sets from Willie Wartaal, Doppelgang and more.

Permanent Festival | June 18

The permanent festival in the Keile district has four stages, and is located at the intersection of underground and larger actions. This will be a mecca for electronic music lovers. The organization offers a stage for both DJs and live acts, rarely found elsewhere in the city.

North Sea Around City | 23 June to 10 July

Nordsø Rundby is the annual fringe festival of NN North Sea Jazz, which tours Rotterdam with more than 375 concerts. Experience the best jazz, soul, r&b, funk, improv, electronic, hip-hop and pop in 125 different venues in all districts of the city.

Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival | 24 to 26 June

The Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival is a cozy, accessible festival in Oude Noorden, where the artists make sure you start dancing. Of course, you hear a lot of bluegrass, but also other forms of roots music, such as country, folk and Americana. And that in the middle of Pijnackerplein!

Rotterdam Price | 30 June to 2 July

RotterdamseKost sets up the sea containers for the ss Rotterdam this year. The concept remains the same: a traditional Rotterdam event with three days of cultural, culinary and musical programming from the soil of Rotterdam. From the culinary delights at the star restaurant Fred to the Asian comfort food from Asian Glories. The artists are also known from the city, where among others The Kik & Friends, Shirma Rouse, Hermes House Band, Convoi Exceptional and The Amazing Stroopwafels perform.
