Schmidt Sea fish

“At Schmidt Zeevis they have the world’s tastiest fish. I worked there for a while and still think it’s a cool place. You will always see a known Rotterdammer! The tempura prawns are amazing and I can eat five of the herring. Also very nice: High-C. The fish version of high tea. You get three different plates, one with toast and butter, below that salmon, eel and prawns and at the bottom fried mussels, kibble and squid rings. Best of all.”

Loetje

“The first place I went to eat after ‘Million Dollar Island’? Loetje. I always take ‘Bøf Bali’, fried in sambal sauce. I always order a batch of capuchins with it because it reminds me of my grandma Corrie. The location in Syd is very nice, but we usually go to Loetje in the center. Nice and easy after shopping. I happen to be going there this afternoon too!”

Vroesenpark

“When the weather is good, I love to grill in Vroesenparken. My husband is absolutely delighted because he is truly an expert. So he always gets nice meat from the butcher and I make sangria. Then the migration begins: BBQ, chairs, wine, tables and our big JBL box. Our friends are of course also involved, because the more souls the better. It always looks like our own star restaurant in the park!”

Beach house

“I think that Strandhuset is the most beautiful tent in Kralingse Bos. It belongs to my uncle, so for me it feels like a home base. Before I go for a walk with my dog Gipsy, I always drink a cup of coffee, a mint tea or a glass of wine here. It just depends on what mood I’m in.’

pepper

“After a long day in the oil bowl, we sometimes don’t feel like cooking anymore. Then we have dinner at Peppel in Schiebroek! A very cozy restaurant that feels like a living room. People play cards here and there is a large terrace. The food is super tasty and affordable. They have dishes from ‘Toen’ and ‘Nu’ on the menu; classic and trendy. The stew is really great, and the surf & turf. The small dishes are also tasty, such as the tuna tartare and the carpaccio dots. I always like to share.”

vandal

“I drink cocktails and I love coming to 1NUL8 and Vandal. I think Vandal is a very nice thing. I usually order a classic Mojito, Pornstar Martini or a Margherita here. Guacamole with crackers and of course sushi. Because the sushi here is really terrible.”

Let’s go and Momento

“I used to be in the city day and night, now I’m more into festivals and good parties. LET’S GO and Momento are getting more and more famous and I like them a lot. Good techno with crazy DJs. LET’S GO reminds me of Elrow in Ibiza, with all the confetti and people dressed up. The atmosphere is good and all ages go around. People my dad’s age and 18 year olds who just come to watch. A medley of Rotterdam!”
