Art to learn!

HET HOGELAND – Friday 9 & 16 and Saturday 10 & 17 September, the 2nd edition of the Cultural Activity Days will take place in Het Hogeland municipality. At 4 locations in Bedum, Winsum, Leens and Uithuizen, more than 40 enthusiastic and skilled teachers give free trial lessons and workshops in music, theatre, dance and visual arts.

“These are the open days at Cultuurcentrum Hogeland, but with a big plus: We have also invited many other course providers to present themselves on these days,” says director Rolien Scheffer. Theatre-makers, music associations, pop choirs and visual artists also participate under the motto “Art to learn!”. All residents of Het Hogeland – big and small, beginners and experienced – can taste the opportunities to be creative and culturally active close to home in their spare time.

Unique collaboration

The cultural activity days are a unique collaboration between many cultural education and social parties in Het Hogeland. The organization is made by Cultuurcentrum Hogeland: the new organization that arose from the recent merger between Muziekschool Hunsingo, Muziekschool Noordakkoord and Theaterschool Wonderboom. Specialistland Het Hogeland supports the efforts of specialist teachers. The doe day is partly made possible by the use of the locations: De Meenspoel in Bedum, Blauwe Schuit in Winsum, the Library in Leens and Dorpshuis De Fakkel in Uithuizen.
