‘Groninger and good’ in the church

From Saturday, the new Local Commission around Scheemder Kirke anno 1515 will start a series of concerts. There are two native-speaking musicians on stage every night. For the first edition, it is singer-songwriter Josien Bakker’s turn and the Groningen-language cult band Stad.

Bakker was discovered during Grunneger Weeke, after which her musical adventure took off. After winning the Grunneger Laidjes festival, she became a much sought after singer in Groningen.
