World celebrities in photography, young talents in the theatre, secular music, Parisian art, children’s theater or baby wellness: these are the 10 tips for activities in the region.

Williams icons

From Henny Vrienten to Al Pacino and Lady Gaga: photographer William Rutten has had them all in front of his lens for 35 years. On 28 October, his photo exhibition ‘Icons’ opens at Merlet in Schoorl. Young talent: The debut

Every year, Via Rudolphi Productions presents a new generation of upcoming theater makers with ‘The Debut’. During graduation presentations and theater festivals, the three most significant works by young creators are selected. And then on Thursday 3 November at 8.30pm in the Theater de Vest the performances ‘Het Showtje’ by Just van Bommel and Emma Adrianne van den Elshout, ‘DREAMING’ by Marie-Mae van Zuilen and ‘Illuminate Illusion’ by Julie Boellaard and Sweder to see The sitter. Big Band Festival

Big bands and jazz music will perform during the fifteenth edition of the Big Band Festival Alkmaar on October 30 from 1 p.m. in Wijkcentrum Overdie. The program includes: Burn Brigade, Big Swing Band, Alkmaarse Big Band (photo), New Harlem Big Band, Junior Jazz Experience, Jazz Focus, Panchós Orchestra, Amsterdam Funk Orchestra, Elma Nijhuis Quartet and PDC + sextet. Vampire Run and Monkey Cage

Sporty kids beware: on Friday 28 October you can pull out your spookiest outfit and take part in the Raadhuis Vampierun in the Vaart sports complex in Oudorp. Children up to ten years old can participate in a 0.5 or 1 kilometer course for 2 euros. There is a prize for the best dressed. More info and registration:

In addition, the tenth Langedijk Monkey Cage Championship is on October 30, organized by Gymvereniging DVV from Langedijk. Sportshal Geestmerambacht is being transformed into a large ‘the biggest monkey cage you’ve ever seen full of spectacular obstacles’. The winning team goes home with ‘The Golden Banana’. The Parisian School

An exhibition by the artist group ‘De Parijse School’, an initiative together with Kunsthuis Marc Chagall in Bergen, can be seen at Galerie Klein Zwitserland on Duinweg in Schoorl until 30 October. They are 45 graphic works in different styles, all inspired by Paris. With lithographs and etchings by, among others, Picasso, Braque, Miro and Buffet. There is free entry. CCC Inc. is back

In 1968, Joost Belinfante founded CCC Inc. on. Now the band is back, and they are giving a number of ‘exclusive’ performances, including in Cultuurkoepel Heiloo on October 29 at 8.15pm.

The band was accompanied by Lennaert Nijgh, who wrote lyrics for Boudewijn de Groot. In 1970 they played at the pop festival Kralingen. They became the resident orchestra in Paradiso, Melkweg and Kosmos. They quit in 1974 and founded Jansz, Hendriks and Belinfante Doe Maar. After the anniversary tour in 2018 and The Spring Tour in 2019, the 53-year-old band is back on stage. Info:

Baby spa

Just become a mother or a father? Arrange a wellness day for the baby and take part in the Baby Massage workshop at Heiloo Library on 29 October between 10.30 and 12.00. There is a brief explanation of different massage techniques and their effects, which can be applied directly to the child under the guidance of pediatric physiotherapist Linda Andriessen-Nelissen. Falkland, The Partnership

More theatre: on 29 and 30 October Falkland Toneel plays the children’s play ‘Waking up Winnie’ by Jan Hoedjes in De Beun Heiloo. Winnie keeps falling asleep during Master Bart’s lessons. The world’s ‘Yes Hello’

chorus ‘Tadam!’ sings polyphonic world music with ‘Ja Helo’ on 30 October at 15 in Groene Zwaan de Rijp. They play music from all corners of the world, full of highs and lows in life. Night at night

Sail in whispering practice through the silence of the night, during the Night of the Night on 29 October from 20:00 to 22:00. From Botenhuis Eilandspolder on Oudelandsdijk you sail through Eilandspolder with skipper and guide. With a little luck, there will be a beautiful starry sky with clear weather.
