Unique limited-edition mini-rooftops: personalization elevated to an art

Who says MINI, says personalization. At MINI, that personalization has now been elevated to an art. MINI gave four designers the opportunity to use the car as a canvas and give their own interpretation and meaning to ‘BIG LOVE for the People and the Planet. The artists convey their message through the roof of the MINI. This is how four exclusive, very limited MINI Rooftop stickers were created.

This is how four exclusive, very limited MINI Rooftop stickers were created, which will be presented as part of the Dutch Design Week, of which MINI is proud to be a mobility partner again this year. In addition, every customer – for a MINI 3-Door or MINI 5-Door – can choose a sticker for a little extra BIG LOVE on their new MINI and thus also spread the designers’ message.
GREAT LOVE for the People and the Planet.

An excellent option for those ordering a new MINI 3-door or 5-door: There is now a choice of four exclusive MINI Rooftops. Around the MINI theme BIG LOVE, four designers have given the roof of the MINI a personal interpretation to spread their unique message. Only 20 copies of each MINI Rooftop are produced. So a total of 80 MINI Rooftops are available. These MINI Rooftops not only give the MINI a personal and artistic accent, but will also literally add value to the MINI and the driver.

The theme BIG LOVE revolves around love for each other and for the planet. MINI gave the four designers with culturally different backgrounds the opportunity to use the roof of the MINI to give this theme their own personal interpretation and to enter into a dialogue about what concerns them. Meet the four designers.

MINI Rooftop designer Tjitske Storm.
Tjitske designs prints, patterns and textiles, primarily for interiors and products. Her expressive style often contains contradictions. Geometric and organic forms combined, as well as digital techniques and traditional craftsmanship. The natural phenomenon of symbiosis was the inspiration for her latest collection of tapestries, which also inspired her MINI Rooftop. She called her design ‘Zebra & Ostrich’ and when you see the design, you immediately understand why.

MINI Rooftop designed by Eva Cremers.
Eva is a 3D illustrator and director known for her colorful and playful work full of characters. She herself drives a MINI Cabriolet and wanted to incorporate her many travels into the MINI Rooftop sticker, combined with natural elements from the forest area she lives in. Several cheerful characters are also incorporated into the design and you will discover something new every time you see the MINI Rooftop. The roof radiates positivity and optimism, something that is also in MINI’s DNA.

MINI Rooftop designer Dewy Elsinga.
Dewy, also known by the stage name BUTTERFINGAZ, has always had a penchant for drawing and studied Illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. During that education she also developed a great interest in painting, especially in color theory and its technique. She gets her inspiration from her surroundings, and the inspiration for her MINI Rooftop comes from a holiday memory. She drove with friends through a beautiful canyon, with high mountain peaks around them. She imitated it abstractly.

MINI Rooftop designer Gigi van Grevenbroek.
Gigi is an illustrator. She has a webshop, but also works on commission. Her work is very diverse, from books to murals and online campaigns. Her Indonesian background is often the inspiration for her work, as are the themes of equal rights and nature. The Big Love theme is perfect for this. Her designs are about the relationship between man and nature and revolve around the fact that man cannot live without nature.
Presentation at Dutch Design Week.

MINI will once again be a proud sponsor and partner of Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven in 2022. MINI also came into contact with the four designers through this event and partnership.
The exclusive MINI Rooftops are available free of charge from now on and while stocks last with the purchase or lease of a MINI 3-door or MINI 5-door, naturally not available in combination with a panoramic roof.
