Then this position as handling and development officer at the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authorities (NVWA) is really for you!

As a processing and development employee, you will work within the Supervisory Directorate, the COA department and within the e-CertNL team. The team consists of approximately 45 internal and external colleagues and together ensure the optimal functioning of the information systems that make Export from and Import to the Netherlands possible. The application administrator will work with e-CertNL. This is the Dutch system for applying for and issuing (electronic) export certificates for food and the veterinary and phytosanitary sector. These are export certificates for products that leave the Netherlands and are exported to countries outside Europe, also called ‘third countries’. In addition, e-CertNL supports the national and intra-Community trade in manure.

What do you want to do?

As a processing and development employee, you are jointly responsible for e-CertNL living up to and continuing to meet the users’ requirements. You work closely with other functional application managers on the creation of features, domains and other fill-in technical matters, and you also contribute to the evaluation of the specifications for changes. In addition, you are a source of information for the users (in the second line) and you coordinate problem solving.

Where appropriate, the Application Administrator may be asked to become more broadly involved and deployed in analysis, design, realization and implementation activities:

  • Test after delivery of new requests in the broadest sense; functional, technical and regression.
  • Monitoring of the e-CertNL system and reporting on this to the continuity manager.
  • Registration of news and announcements on the e-CertNL website.

You will work in an enthusiastic team with a good working environment. e-CertNL is completely ‘up to date’ in terms of version control, so you work with modern ICT tools. In terms of working method, we work completely Lean and Agile, there is a lot of room for your ideas and to develop yourself further.

You report hierarchically to Marcel Bouwsma, manager e-CertNL and functionally to Marc van Gils, continuity manager.

Job requirements
You actively participate in the resolution of incidents. In addition, you review the user and management manuals and give advice on improvements. You have a connecting personality and can work well in a team. You also have good social and communication skills to deal with different stakeholders. Finally, you don’t mind helping users or resolving incidents outside of formal business hours.

In addition, you have:

  • You have MBO working and thinking level, with at least an MBO diploma. Preferably within ICT and business.
  • Experience in a similar position in a large government or service organization.
  • Important quality and work experience around information analysis (demand articulation) and quality assurance are sought.
  • You have knowledge of processes in connection with maintenance and management (ITIL and/or BiSL).
  • Experience with Jira and Topdesk.
  • You work meticulously and can plan and organize well, with an overview of the whole and monitor progress.
  • You are customer-oriented, analytically strong and environmentally aware.
  • You work actively with your own development.
